Love stumbling upon old photos I had forgotten I’d taken. Came across an album from the Victoria and Albert Museum and one of my favourite items from their fashion collection is the emerald green dress, designed by Charles James, 1939 and textile print by Jean Cocteau. It is also appears that ALICE by Temperley has taken some influence from the era in her pre Autumn Winter 2013/14 collection, producing a green jumpsuit that is very reminiscent of the Charles James Dress and print similar to the image of the bird weave created by Marion Dorn, 1939 Edinburgh Weavers.
